2012 Audi A5
The automobile manufacturer Audi has updated its A5 model range, which includes the Coupe, Cabriolet, Sportback and S5 versions and now enjoys a new design, an improved quattro drive system, new infotainment systems and more efficient engines.
The main aesthetic changes are the redesigned headlights and taillights which now feature homogenous LED daytime running lamps and can be optionally equipped with the Xenon Plus technology. Also, the bumpers have been redesigned and the front grille has received at the upper corners a series of glossy black accents.
Inside, the facelift 2012 Audi A5 versions offer a stylish and comfortable environment thanks to the use of the best quality materials, a new steering wheel, dashboard units illuminated in white, new paint for the center console, redesigned buttons and various other discrete restyling.
Furthermore, engines available for the new 2012 Audi A5 Coupe, Cabriolet, Sportback and S5 versions come as standard equipped with the Start Stop technology and a braking energy regeneration system and are now more efficient by around 11% thanks to forced induction technologies and direct injection.
Engine options include three gasoline engines and four diesel engines. The 1.8-liter TFSI engine now produces 170 horsepower (125 kW) and a torque of 320 Nm and promises a fuel consumption of 5.7-liter per 100 km, while CO2 emissions value fell to 134 grams per km, ie an improvement of 21 percentage. In addition, the 2.0-liter TFSI engine is unchanged, meaning it develops 211 hp (155 kW), and as a novelty, the 3.0 TFSI V6 engine was added to the list of engine options of the new 2012 Audi A5 and produces 272 horsepower (200 kw).
The diesel engine range comes with a 2.0-liter TDI engine that produces 177 horsepower (130 kW) and has a consumption of 4.7 liters/100 km and three 3.0 liters TDI V6. The first produces 204 horsepower (150 kW) and has a consumption of 4.9-liter/100 km, while the second produces 245 horsepower (180 kw). The third V6 diesel engine will join the range of engines that will equip the 2012 Audi A5 and it will be in compliance with the Euro 6 standards.
Moreover, the 2012 Audi A5 Sportback, Coupe, Cabriolet and S5 have received a series of improvements of the chassis and the running gear, and new 17-inch rims as standard and new assistance systems.
The price of the facelift 2012 Audi A5 models starts at €33,350 for the 1.8 TFSI Sportback versions, while the A5 Coupe 2.0 TFSI costs €200 more than ever before.
